STMicroelectronics has entered the share capital of Oversonic Robotics, an Italian humanoid-robot developer, alongside Fondazione ENEA Tech Biomedical and SpotInvest.
The investment is aimed at Oversonic's industrial and international growth — a bet on humanoid platforms finding real work on factory floors rather than staying demo-stage, with a semiconductor heavyweight now holding a direct stake in the outcome.
It's the latest sign of chipmakers moving up the stack into physical AI, following a run of silicon and compute vendors pairing off with robot builders through 2026.
