Siemens links the edge to the cloud with Databricks and FFT

Siemens has unveiled an edge-to-cloud integration with data-and-AI company Databricks and long-time automation partner FFT Produktionssysteme, aimed at turning shop-floor data into scalable, AI-driven insight.

The partnership tackles a persistent problem in smart manufacturing: plenty of data is generated on the line, but far less of it reaches the analytics and models that could act on it. Bridging edge and cloud is the connective tissue.
