ABB rolls out new sensors, a learning gripper and a web-based DCS pack

ABB has announced a wide slate of automation products, including non-invasive sensor solutions, a low-flow flowmeter and a web-based expansion pack for its flagship distributed control system (DCS).

The eye-catcher is a robot gripper that borrows from human prosthetics research to grasp more adaptively — a reminder that advances in one corner of robotics increasingly feed another.
